We Love Canines!
Welcome to our Home and Community for Dog and Puppy Lovers Everywhere!
I’ve always had a special place in my heart for dogs, but little did I know that I would be diagnosed with a life-threatening cancer at the age of 22 years–and that my beloved Springer Spaniel puppy, Sophie’s loving care and literal watching over me would be so life-affirming and such a crucial part of my healing.
Late last week, I was finally able to write a blog post about Sophie in my original blog, “Musings of a Cancer Research Advocate” without completely dissolving into tears. And it was in that moment that this new website, “We Love Canines,” my new Facebook Page, and our new Facebook Group were born.
I have always been passionate about dogs and the joy they bring to so many people. My hope is that creating this website will bring a special community together where we can share our mutual love for dogs and pups and the sheer joy they bring to us every day. Particularly because so many of us have been isolated in our homes for the last few months due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this seemed an especially important time to create a community where we can bring more light into one another’s lives by talking about our canine best friends.
I’m thrilled that you’re here and encourage you to follow this “We Love Canines!” website and blog and to also follow our new “We Love Dogs: A Cancer Survivor’s Best Friend” Facebook Page and Facebook Group Community.
Be sure to visit us often for fun, helpful information for you and your pets; effective ways to engage your pups and dogs to keep them happy and healthy; a celebration of dogs, pups, and other beloved animals in the arts, photography, beloved fiction, non-fiction, and film; and more!
Take care, and be safe and well during this difficult time.
Debra Madden, your fellow dog lover
